Digital Signage as a tool to counter halts production in supply chains

21.11.2021

The impact of Covid-19 on supply chains around the world is clear. The lack of some products on supermarket shelves, very long waiting lists to be able to get and drive a new car, skyrocketing prices of raw materials used in construction are just some of the effects caused by the closures of companies that cover key roles in the supply chain of specific product categories.

The risk of Covid outbreaks weighs in a significant way on the global supply chain in the near future. This means that every actor in the supply chain, from manufacturer to freight forwarder to distributors and warehouses, must equip themselves in such a way as to minimize that risk and manage it as effectively as possible.

A recent market survey conducted by Deloitte predicts that companies that declare delays or halts in the supply chain can see the value of their shares fall by up to 25% and shareholder profits fall by up to 30% when compared with those of competitors operating in the same sector.

Digital Signage can be very useful in the workplace, especially in medium and large companies plants, as it allows immediate and effective communication for all employees: from the rules of social distancing, to the scheduling of specific shifts of work or compliance with certain deadlines, up to real-time screening of the body temperature of those present in a certain work environment, LED displays allow the disclosure of information in real time to a large number of recipients without coming into contact with other subjects, thus reducing the risk of contagion and maximizing communication efficiency, just as is already happening in the public transport sector.
